OUR MISSION & VISION
We’re On a Mission!
Beit Lechem Messianic Congregation opened in Downey, California in 2017 with a mission to establish a community of Jewish and non-Jewish believers in Yeshua/Jesus, the promised Messiah to Israel, by forming disciples who follow a biblical lifestyle within the framework of Messianic Judaism (Acts 2:42, Acts 2:46-47, Acts 6:7; I John 5:1-4).
And we won’t stop there! We are looking ahead with a vision to expand the kingdom of God in righteousness, to inspire and raise up new generations who can bring change and add value to every community we are part of (Matthew 5:1-6, Matthew 25:31-40; Romans 2:7-10, Romans 14:17).
Our common bond is expressed by the values of:
Torah – Biblical instruction of Moral and Ethical Responsibilities
Gemilut Chesed – Acts of kindness
Avodah – Work, Worship, and Service
Tzedakah – A moral obligation of charitable giving
Tikkun Olam – An opportunity to make a social contribution
Duty of love to support and care for Israel – The land and its people (the Jewish people and those who take refuge in the shadow of the Almighty) as well as the communities we live in.
We will fulfill our mission, vision and values with Kingdom-building action:
Proclaiming Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth as the promised Messiah to Israel and the message of salvation to all nations (Jew and Gentile) from its Jewish roots.
Meeting the religious, spiritual, educational, and social needs of a multi–cultural community.
Discipling believers in Messiah through the teaching and studying of Tanakh (Torah, Writings, Prophets in the Hebrew Scriptures), Brit Chadashah (Gospels and letters of the apostles), Jewish texts, rituals, practices, and values.
Fulfilling the mitzvah (command or good deed) of being a light to the world by planting and reproducing culturally sensitive Messianic Jewish congregations.
Clothing the naked, feeding the orphane and widows, to visiting the sick and elderly, and helping the emotionally wounded.
Building bridges of understanding between the large community of believers in Yeshua/Jesus for the purpose of promoting unity in mind, purpose, spirit, sympathy, love as one body in Messiah (I Corinthians 1:10; I Peter 3:8).
Providing ministry opportunities that will enhance each person’s walk with God and glorify Him.
